La Fonda Coffee Table
Charles & Ray Eames, 1961
In 1961 Alexander Girard was commissioned to outfit the La Fonda del Sol restaurant at New York's Rockefeller Center. Girard was responsible for the restaurant's overall interior, ranging from the wallpaper to the crockery, and it was furnished in Eames Office. For the restaurant the Eames came up with a striking base that was used for the chairs, dining tables and even the low coffee table.
