Overview

The new Terminal 5, which is as large as 50 football fields, was furnished with more than 9,000 units of Norman Foster’s waiting area system Airline. Due to the positive experiences with the Vitra products and with Vitra as a management and service partner, BAA, the operator of the airport, intensified the cooperation. In 2010, Vitra was awarded the contract to deliver further terminal and gate seating systems over the next five years. In addition to Heathrow, BAA also operates the Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Southampton airports.
