Since the completion of the first project for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2000 (the completion of the rooms on the campus in Irvine, California), registrations of new students have risen by 40 percent. The positive experiences and the indestructibility of the Vitra products have meant that after furnishing the locations of Los Angeles and San Francisco in December 2008, Vitra was commissioned to provide products for the FIDM campus in San Diego – the individual offices, as well as the conference and meeting rooms, the classrooms, the library and the cafeteria.
