The Vitra Airport Division specialises in Waiting Areas. This team offers consultant services, develops plans for all types of waiting areas and implements these plans with Vitra products.
Vitra offers comprehensive assistance to the customer in the form of spatial planning, specification of products and project management. The Airport Division Team can work with all CADs provided by the customer.
In addition to our standard products and systems, Vitra also offers customised solutions to fully meet the specific needs of our clients.
Vitra's manufacturing operations are based on a “pull system”, which optimizes the lead time ratio and reduces stock inventory. This gives us precise control over production capacity.
Every Vitra product is subject to the strictest quality control procedures prior to leaving our factory. In our own Test Centre our products are tested to ensure their conformity with European and US standards for ergonomics and safety, as well as with British, Dutch and German norms. In addition, Vitra carries out additional tests to fulfil internal quality standards.
Stock inventory is managed at Vitra with the SAP R/3 Material Management (MM) module, which reduces delivery times and costs.
Vitra uses packaging which is shock absorbent and waterproof to protect contents from damage during transport. We advocate the re-use and recycling of packaging materials.
Prior to installation, Vitra inspects the premises to gain a precise understanding of local requirements. Based on this inspection, an implementation strategy is developed to ensure that there is no interference with other contract partners or adjacent owners. This also includes a plan for the on-site storage of delivered materials to protect them from any damage.
Vitra uses a hub strategy. For fast, ecological transport, products are delivered either fully assembled, ready for use or prepared for assembly. Our longstanding cooperation with designated logistics partners ensures optimal distribution operations and efficient information flow.
Vitra uses various SAP R/3 SCM modules to control and modify the chain of distribution for on-time delivery.
To facilitate timely and economical installation, Vitra provides specialised installation tools. Vitra employees supervise the installation and, where necessary train local personnel to perform skilled tasks.
Only when the client is completely satisfied with the results do we consider the installation to be successfully completed. As a matter of course, our commitment to the client does not end with the completion of a project.
