In the office world the Eames Aluminium Group is the best-known design classic by far. It has almost been forgotten that the Aluminium Chair was originally designed for use in the home, in particular for a house built by Eero Saarinen and equipped by Alexander Girard in 1958. With their high backrest, cushioned head support and tilting mechanism the EA 121 and EA 124 Lounge Chairs and the associated EA125 Ottoman in particular offer the ultimate in comfort. For the home the chairs now come in a revised range of textile and leather versions whose homelike elegance is further enhanced by white detail on the chair.
