The new state parliament building of the German state of Hesse needs to be as transparent as possible: The ground-floor, light plenary chamber can be viewed from outside and offers space for 170 visitors to follow the debates from the gallery. The members of parliament take their seats on Aluminium Chairs, the classic of the designers Charles and Ray Eames from the year 1958. Vitra gives a 30-year guarantee – more than 7 terms of office – on the chairs.
