Greg Lynn
Biografie
Greg Lynn, in 1964 geboren in Ohio, VS. Hij studeerde architectuur en filosofie aan de Miami University of Ohio en architectuur aan de Princeton University.
In 1987 werkt hij bij Antoine Predock Architect, van 1990-'94 bij het bureau van Peter Eisenmann.
In 1994 gaat hij voor zichzelf werken en begint hij het bureau 'Greg Lynn FORM' in Hoboken, New Jersey. In 1998 verhuist het bureau naar Venice, Californië.
Projecten en publicaties van Greg Lynn dragen wezenlijk eraan bij dat werken op de computer niet alleen als rationaliseringshulp maar ook als nog lang niet uitgeput potentieel voor het eigenlijke ontwerpproces worden gezien.
Van 1999-2002 bekleedt hij een leerstoel voor planologie en onderzoek aan de Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschule (ETH) in Zürich. Sinds 2002 is hij gewoon professor aan de der Universiteit voor Toegepaste Kunst in Wenen en gastdocent aan de Graduate School of Architecture van de Yale University, New Haven en van de Graduate School of Architecture aan de University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Tegenwoordig is Greg Lynn één van de belangrijkste vertegenwoordigers van de door haar biomorfe vormentaal gekenmerkte zogenaamde 'blob-architectuur'.
