CONTENT GUIDELINES

for Landing Pages

Landing pages are the entry point to vitra.com for many visitors. Visitors arrive on landing pages via direct links from external websites, google searches, social media links, or sometimes from news pages or other internal links within vitra.com. Visitors to landing pages are looking for immediate information to a specific topic, and therefore the goal of landing pages is to present an overview of relevant information and then to redirect the visitor to further relevant pages on vitra.com.

Examples of landing pages include:

  • Overview pages for :
     - Campaigns (e.g. Home Stories)
     - Product collections (e.g. Accessories)
     - Segments (e.g. Public Segment)
  • Special (social media) promotions (e.g. I Want a Lounge Chair)
  • Apps (e.g. Lounge Chair App)
  • Upcoming Events (e.g. Vitra Campus Nights, Factory Sale)

Because landing pages are so diverse in their goals, there is no standard layout or checklist of required content for them. Below is a list of possible elements which can be employed on a landing page as well as the basic requirements for each element.


Please use the following checklist as a guide to prepare a briefing for a landing page, or come see us for more complex projects.

Possible Elements for Landing Pages

  • Text
     - Title: ideally 35 letters or less
     - Subtitle
     - Body text
     - Supporting texts: credits, addresses, opening times, etc.
  • Translations: for each vitra.com language (DE, EN, ES, FR, IT, NL, and optionally JP)
     - unless the landing page will only be shown in a smaller geographic area (local channels)
  • Links in text *: please highlight where in the text the links should be placed and specify the target vitra.com page (i.e. Designer Page, Product Page, etc.), external URL or contact email address
  • Visual Media
     - Key Visual: jpeg, horizontal orientation, at least 1500 pixels wide
     - Additional images: jpeg format, preferably in horizontal orientation. We can only use vertical images for a few image layouts.
     - Video: please see "Requirements for Videos". A video can also be used in place of a static key visual.
     - PDFs: all language versions
  • Metadata for all images / videos: in Censhare (how-to)
     - No Censhare access? Use this form and send it with the images.
  • Bookshelf: multiple visual links (teaser images) to related pages. Requirements: teaser images (4:3), matching subtitles with translations
  • Parallax Teaser or Parallax Slider: full screen (width) visual link to a related page. Requirements: background image (16:9), teaser text with translations
  • Product Listing: please specify which products should be linked; three products minimum
  • iFrame: external content (e.g. Social Media Wall). Requirement: iframe URL
  • Short URL: please specify the desired URL, always in English, in the format "vitra.com/desiredpagename"

* Ideally, no page on vitra.com should be a dead end. Especially on landing pages, we always want to direct the visitor to further relevant pages, preferably on vitra.com or when appropriate, to external websites.


Briefings

To create or update a webpage on vitra.com, we'll need a briefing from you. To save time and effort for everyone, please assemble as much content as possible, organize it, translate it, and proofread it before submitting the briefing. Let us know where images, downloads, and links should be placed in the text and include the Censhare IDs for images and dowload assets in the briefing. If you don't know where content should be uploaded into Censhare, ask us for a content folder and we will send you the Asset ID for your uploads. Besides images, texts and documents for download can also be uploaded to the content folder.
