CONTENT GUIDELINES

for News Articles

All news articles are displayed at www.vitra.com/news. News articles communicate information which is relevant for a limited period of time and will become outdated, in contrast to magazine articles, which communicate content which remains relevant indefinitely.

Examples of news article subjects include:

  • (Upcoming) fairs or exhibitions
  • New products (product launch)
  • New installations in the Vitrahaus
  • New exhibitions on the Vitra campus
  • Upcoming Events (e.g. Vitra Campus Nights)

Content Checklist - News

Minimum requirements:

  • Title with translations: ideally 35 letters or less
  • Subtitle with translations: for events, the date(s)
  • Key Visual: an image in jpeg format, horizontal orientation, minimum width of 1500 pixels
  • Metadata for all images / videos1
  • Body text with translations: please translate all supplemental text such as buttons or headers as well (i.e. “Further information here…”)
  • Publication Date
  • Briefing: see "Submitting Content" below.

Optional extras:

  • Additional images: jpeg format, preferably in horizontal orientation. Our ability to use vertical images is limited by the website layout but in some cases, we can integrate vertical images into a news article.2
  • Video: usually 16:9 format. The video can also be used in place of a static key visual.
  • Links in text3: please highlight where in the text the link(s) should be placed and specify the target URLs or pages (i.e. Designer Page, Product Page, etc.).
  • Links to PDFs or email addresses (contact): please supply the PDFs or contact email addresses.

1 Please see Guidelines for Visual Media in Censhare.
2 Please see Possible Image Layouts.
3 Ideally, no page on vitra.com should be a dead end – we always want to direct the visitor to further relevant pages, preferably on the vitra website or when appropriate, to external websites.

Briefings

To create or update a webpage on vitra.com, we'll need a briefing from you. To save time and effort for everyone, please assemble as much content as possible, organize it, translate it and proofread it before submitting a briefing. Any supporting information such as credits, addresses and times should be included in the translated text of the briefing. For each article, there should be a version in each vitra.com language (DE, EN, ES, FR, IT, NL, and optionally JP), unless the article will only be shown in a smaller geographic area (local news). Let us know where the images should be placed in the text and include the Censhare Asset ID for each image in the briefing. For new images (not yet in Censhare), ask us for a content folder and we will create one for you and send you the Asset ID to which you can upload the images. Texts and translations (word documents) can also be uploaded to the content folder.
