Coconut Chair
George Nelson, 1955
The Coconut Chair by George Nelson is a spacious lounge chair with an instantly recognisable shape that makes a striking accent in diverse settings such as lobbies, lounges and waiting areas. The designer himself compared the chair to a segment of a coconut cut into eight pieces – but with reversed colours. The comfortable one-piece upholstery is covered with leather or fabric, and the expansive shell offers great freedom of movement.
