Soft Pad Chaise ES 106

Charles & Ray Eames, 1968

The Soft Pad Chaise ES 106 is an ideal piece for progressive companies whose business culture and office etiquette allow power napping – a habit conventionally derided yet proven to have a restorative and energising effect. Originally developed by Charles and Ray Eames for their long-time friend Billy Wilder, the recliner is so narrow that the folded arms of a person lying on it drop to the sides just before they fall into a deep sleep, thereby ending a short nap at just the right moment.
