Charles & Ray Eames, 1945

In 1945, after several years of experimentation, Charles and Ray Eames successfully developed the legendary chairs of the Plywood Group, whose three-dimensionally moulded shapes fit the contours of the human body.

  • LCW = Lounge Chair Wood
  • Back/seat: moulded plywood with face veneer in black-pigmented walnut.
  • Base: moulded plywood in black ash. Seat and backrest attached to the base with shock mounts (bonded rubber and metal connectors).
