FAQ

Are the Vitra Campus and the VitraHaus as well as the Vitra Design Museum and the Schaudepot open?
The Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein will be closed to visitors due to developments in the coronavirus/COVID-19 until probably 7 March 2021.

The VitraHaus, Vitra Design Museum, Vitra Schaudepot as well as the catering facilities VitraHaus Café and Depot Deli will remain temporarily closed.

Vitra is obliged to take these necessary measures to protect visitors and employees on the Vitra Campus from infection with the coronavirus. Our medically assisted task force will continue to review our policy on a regular basis.

We hope that the current situation will soon improve and that we will be able to welcome you back to the Vitra Campus.

Which hygiene and safety measures are implemented on the Vitra Campus?
Comprehensive safety and hygiene concepts have been implemented in accordance with governmental regulations and in consultation with a medical task force, in order to provide maximum protection for campus visitors and employees, while still offering an optimal experience of design and architecture.

• Face masks are required in all public open spaces on the Vitra Campus and buildings such as the Vitra Design Museum, Vitra Schaudepot, the Vitra Design Museum, and the VitraHaus, this also applies to guided tours and workshops (Disposable masks can be provided).

• Spit protection has been installed at all receptions, cash registers, and shops on Campus.

• Floor markings and information points help to guide guests.

• Payment with debit or credit card is preferred (cash payments are still possible).

• Lockers are not available for the time being, there’s only a limited capacity to store coats and jackets.

Responsible behaviour of our guests: Wash your hands thoroughly, keep social distancing in mind (min. 1,5 meter), please stay at home if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, don’t shake hands, use your elbow if you need to sneeze or cough etc.

Maximum number of guests in public buildings and during guided tours and workshops:

• max. 50 guests at the Vitra Design Museum (Frank Gehry building)
• max. 8 guests at the Vitra Design Museum Gallery
• max. 50 guests at the Vitra Schaudepot
• max. 20 guests at the shop of VitraHaus
• max. 19 persons during guided architecture tours
• max. 15 persons during guided exhibition tours
• max. 10 participants (and 1 workshop leader) during workshops

All hygiene and safety concepts that serve to ensure the safety of employees and visitors are continuously evaluated and updated in order to be able to offer you the best possible experience in the Vitra Design Museum while taking all precautionary measures.
Are the showrooms and shops of the specialist dealers open?
Many showrooms and shops of specialist dealers are open again. The individual opening hours should be requested from the respective shop on site. Please use Find Vitra to search and to get in contact.
Can I continue to shop online?
Yes, all products available in the online shop can still be ordered online.
Is the customer service available?
The customer service is available for you as usual. Please use our Contact & Service Portal.
Does a contactless delivery service exist?
All our shipping service providers are able to provide contactless delivery. For example, some shipping service providers now use photographic documentation instead of the recipient's signature. If the delivery is made by a forwarding company, you will be called before the delivery and can, for example, arrange to have it delivered to your door.
Will there be delays in delivery?
Our indicated production and delivery times are up to date. However, our transport service providers still have to process an increased transport volume. This may cause occasional delays in delivery.
What about products that need to be assembled?
If the installation of a product to be assembled cannot be carried out by us, we will temporarily not offer this product for sale.
I am in quarantine. Can I request a later delivery date for my online shop order?
Yes. Please indicate this note with a desired delivery date in the comment field during the ordering process or contact us directly by e-mail.
