Vitra presents “A Landscape for Living”
during NYCxDesign 2017

May 19th to 24th

May, 2017 (New York, NY) - Swiss design manufacturer Vitra will celebrate NYCxDesign at its New York Pop-Up this year with “A Landscape for Living”. From May 19th to 24th, customers and design enthusiasts are invited to explore a contemporary ensemble showcasing the theme of living and dining – the centerpiece of which will be iconic soft seating designs from Vitra and Artek.

A Landscape for Living
At the heart of the installation will be several living and dining scenes, highlighting Vitra’s competence in soft seating. Among these will be sofas and lounge chairs reimagined in fabrics by Vitra Art Director for Colors and Surfaces Hella Jongerius and fresh new textile collections by Raf Simons for Kvadrat. The display will also feature different pieces from Artek’s Kiki Collection designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara, the new Softshell Side Chair by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and the East River Chair, originally conceived by Hella Jongerius for the North Delegates’ Lounge at the United Nations Headquarters. With its distinctive form and casual combination of diverse materials, it exemplifies Jongerius’ unique manner of fusing industry and craft, high- and low-tech, traditional and modern.
