Our home is the only place where we can truly be ourselves. Every home has an autobiographical dimension – our interiors reflect our personality and become a part of our identity.

Our home is the only place where we can truly be ourselves. Every home has an autobiographical dimension – our interiors reflect our personality and become a part of our identity.

At Vitra, we believe in the principle of collage – the idea that a vibrant living space is not achieved by conforming to a unified plan, but rather gains character through a mix of old and new, high and low, classic and contemporary.

The Vitra Accessories Collection reflects this belief and is composed of design objects ranging from timeless creations by Charles & Ray Eames, George Nelson and Alexander Girard to the newest products by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Hella Jongerius, Michel Charlot and other contemporary designers.

Nuage by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec
The cloud shape of the Nuage vases made its first appearance in the oeuvre of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2002. For the Nuage vase, the designers executed the cloud motif in extruded aluminium profiles of varying lengths.
L'Oiseau
Motifs drawn from nature have played an important role in interior furnishings since the earliest examples known to us, and natural forms and structures have also been a recurring theme in the work of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. L'Oiseau, an avian figure of archaic simplicity, is reminiscent of the unpretentious artefacts of Nordic folk art. Its sleek form attractively enriches contemporary interiors without the cuteness or even tackiness so commonly associated with animal figures.
