ヴィトラは、イームズオフィスとの協働により「イームズ スペシャル コ レクション 2023」を発売します。このコレクションでは、チャールズ＆ レイ・イームズを象徴するデザインである「ラ シェーズ」「イームズ エレファント プライウッド」「イームズ ウール ブランケット」「イームズ プライウッド モビール」「イームズ ハウスバード」、そしてチャールズ・イームズがエーロ・サーリネンと共同で開発した椅子「オーガニック カンファレンス」が新鮮な特別カラーやファブリックを纏い登場します。
9月7 日より一部店舗で先行発売、その他の正規販売代理店およびVitra Online Shopでは11 月 1日より発売、 2024年1 月末までの期間限定の特別なコレクションです。
Charles and Ray Eames
チャールズ ＆レイ・イームズは、20 世紀のデザイン史においてもっとも重要な存在です。彼らは家具デザイン、映画や写真撮影、展覧会の企画までを幅広く手掛け、プライウッド、ファイバーグラス、アルミニ ウムなど、彼らの独創的な素材使いやカラーパレットは、ミッドセンチュリーのデザインに革命をもたらし ました。
また、チャールズ＆レイ・イームズにとって、彼らの作品に色彩を施すことは、単に美しくカラフルにする目的だけではありませんでした。それは、表現のひとつとしてモノや空間の情報を正しく伝える方法、観る人の目と心を魅了するツールとして、作品に色を用いました。
