At this year's Orgatec – the office furniture fair in Cologne – Vitra is presenting three concepts for workspaces under the title 'WORK 2018', along with new and revised products by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, Konstantin Grcic, Stephan Hürlemann, Antonio Citterio, Alberto Meda, Charles and Ray Eames, Maarten Van Severen and Arik Levy. Here is an overview.
Soft WorkEdward Barber & Jay Osgerby, 2018The seating system Soft Work rethinks office working practices: it forms the new heart of the office, developed according to user requirements when working in public spaces. Soft Work offers a versatile platform for both individuals and teams. Besides ergonomic seating options, users also find practical table surfaces, power outlets and charging stations. Mobile tables and chairs can be pulled up as needed and put away again, and the addition of panels creates spaces for quiet, concentrated work. Thanks to its modular concept, Soft Work can be easily assembled into diverse arrangements, enabling architects to structure the internal spaces of a building, create specific focal points, or define flexible public areas.
Dancing WallStephan Hürlemann, 2018The basic function of Dancing Wall is that of a mobile partition that can be used to flexibly divide offices into zones, while providing vertical work space. It consists of a metal frame, which can be equipped in various configurations: as a bookshelf, TV unit, cloakroom, plant wall, or as a room divider with removable whiteboards and pinboards.

Their trim shapes, sophisticated aluminium components and classic Hopsak cover fabric lend these chairs a dignified elegance. At the same time, the various models of the AC 5 Group cover a wide performance spectrum. These high-quality, versatile chairs are especially well suited for specific applications: from the ergonomically optimised task chair AC 5 Work to the reductive functionality of AC 5 Studio, from the conference chair AC 5 Meet to the flexible AC 5 Swift on castors.

Maarten Van Severen Collection: Colour UpdateMaarten Van Severen, 1955-2005Between 1995 and 2005, Maarten Van Severen collaborated with Vitra on the design of various furniture pieces that have since become classics.
