POSSIBLE IMAGE LAYOUTS
on vitra.com
Here you can see the possible image layouts that we can build into webpages on vitra.com. As you can see, our options are much broader with horizontal images than with vertical images. Of course, we can and do crop vertical images into horizontal images to make them fit, but the results aren't always ideal. Please keep these limitations in mind in your project planning, graphic designs and photo shoots - vertical images may be great for print applications but not necessarily for vitra.com.
Full screen horizontal image or video (video = 16:9)
The image is automatically resized to screen width: a vertical image is too big.
Single horizontal image or video (video = 16:9)
The image is automatically resized to widget width: a vertical image is too big.
Media block - two horizontal images of equal proportions (e.g. 4:3)
Media block - two vertical images of equal proportions (e.g. 3:4)
Image gallery - 3 or more images - horizontal images fit nicely
Image gallery - vertical images are automatically resized to the width of the frame
Bookshelves, product listing, etc. - three or four horizontal images at 4:3
This element was designed for horizontal images.
Navigation - one to four horizontal images at 4:3
This element was designed for horizontal images.
Think digital - make horizontal images!
