Reset

Stephan Hürlemann, 2026

Thanks to the modular Reset system, stepped floor structures can be assembled, remodelled, dismantled, removed and reconstructed as easily as using building blocks.

‘Reset is not just a product – it’s a platform for possibility. A system that supports intensive work, recreation and everything in between. It’s built to flexibly adapt and grow with your team.’
Stephan Hürlemann

Build in a moment – always ready

All configurations require just three elements: one panel and two base elements. Reset is assembled quickly and intuitively. As simple as building blocks.

Choose what you need – in any space

Reset transforms unused areas into productive environments – functional, flexible, universal. Whether dead corners, in-between zones, previously underutilised spaces or open settings, Reset establishes structure. Platforms and folding cushions create areas for dialogue, quiet retreat or presentations – precisely where they are needed. The purpose defines the use – and can be modified at any time, adding value to every space.

Stays with you – for a long time

Reset embodies sustainable planning – durable, reusable and resource-efficient. The materials are robust and can be recycled or repurposed at the end of their life cycle – including the folding seat cushions made of V-Foam.

One set of platforms allows multiple configurations – from classroom to arena setups – and can be quickly stacked and set aside for compact, space-saving storage when the floor is needed for other purposes. A system that grows and adapts, while using resources responsibly.

Activating the spaces in-between

For decades, Stephan Hürlemann has created products with one clear principle: things should last. Reset, his latest modular seating system for Vitra, is no different. With its cross-shaped base providing both stability and distinctive character, the design serves equally well as stepped seating, a stage or a sofa. Design editor Jessica-Christin Hametner spoke to Stephan Hürlemann about Reset, as well as what functional need the system addresses in waiting and work areas.
