Second Foundation

Second Foundation is a technology company in the electricity trading sector that develops digital solutions to optimise the performance of energy systems. Having grown rapidly in a short period of time, the company needed to consolidate several locations under one roof. The brief called for a working environment structured to accommodate future growth and support different ways of working.

The client was looking for long-lasting products that would live up to the high architectural standards of the Masaryčka  building designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, and Vitra was selected to deliver the complete furnishing package.

The new office environment is organised in such a way that individual teams can work without interruption, while open zones encourage informal exchanges. The central core is surrounded by meeting rooms, retreat areas, quiet zones and a café kitchen. Bookshelves define the workspaces, a slatted ceiling improves acoustics, and glazed meeting and telephone rooms provide outdoor views even from deeper inside. All areas are furnished with Vitra products, which not only complement the building’s eye-catching architecture, but also fulfil the daily requirements of a busy office.
