TWENTYTHIRTYFIVE
Virgil Abloh c/o Vitra

Vitra is presenting the installation TWENTYTHIRTYFIVE in collaboration with Virgil Abloh at the Fire Station on the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein from 12 June to 31 July 2019. The American architect, artist and designer is also launching two products by Jean Prouvé and a new product as limited edition exhibition spin-offs.
Vitra’s latest collaboration is part of a long sequence of experimental projects with designers, architects and artists that have led to discussions that go far beyond the production of chairs and home accessories – resulting in exhibitions, installations and special Vitra editions that reach an audience interested in both social and design issues.
At the focus of this artistic intervention by Virgil Abloh is the interaction between an adolescent and his home surroundings. On one hand, it looks at how the evolution of technology and changes in society might affect our homes. On the other hand, it addresses the degree to which our environment influences our life path, our tastes and the decisions we make over time.

About Virgil Abloh
In Virgil Abloh, Vitra has selected a cooperation partner who is known not only for pushing boundaries, but also for turning an entire system upside down and reinterpreting the concept of design. With his challenging way of thinking and working, the 38-year-old architect, DJ, engineer, university lecturer, artist, entrepreneur and creative director of Louis Vuitton captivates an entire generation. He uses his creativity for socio-political messages and knows how to package them so attractively that it often takes a little while to fully grasp which terrain he has lured you onto.
