Home Sweet Home – Bird House Exhibition

As the cold winter season approaches and the days grow shorter, the Eames House Bird is also seeking some warm shelter. It discovers what it is looking for in the VitraHaus on the Vitra Campus: it can choose from a minimalist loft, a rustic log cabin, a colourful villa, an eco-tower and much more. Here it will find a comfortable and cosy home for the winter until spring returns to the Vitra Campus.
The 'Home Sweet Home – Bird House Exhibition' at the VitraHaus was curated by Swiss interior stylist Connie Hüsser and her label 'Objects with Love'. Forty internationally renowned designers, including Bethan Laura Wood, Bertjan Pot and Fredrik Paulsen, as well as promising newcomers such as Kuo Duo, have designed individual bird houses for this exhibition with their own signature style and characteristic materials. The houses reflect each designer's distinctive style and ideas and offer visitors inspiring insights into creative design on a miniature scale.
The one-off pieces in the exhibition can be used both as functional nesting places and as decorative art objects and are available exclusively in the Vitra Design Museum Shop. A portion of the sales proceeds will be donated to the local bird conservation organisation 'Natur- und Vogelfreunde Efringen-Kirchen e.V.'.
Of course, there is much more to discover in the VitraHaus: on the first floor, visitors can marvel at the brand new Anagram Sofa, which Vitra has developed in collaboration with designers Panter & Tourron – with expert interior advice available on site. And for the upcoming festive season, the shops on the Vitra Campus are full of inspiring gift ideas.
