FUTURAMA Lupfig
Lupfig, Switzerland

Futurama is an innovation hub initiated by Halter AG that brings together companies from the service, research and manufacturing sectors. It offers flexible spaces for a variety of uses and serves as a platform for exchange, collaboration and new ways of working. The project also includes prototype floors for so-called “Circular Spaces”, demonstrating how these workplace environments can be implemented in practice.

The core element of the design is a reusable wall system that can be combined with furniture, curtains and carpets. The aim of the fit-out was to develop a solution based on circular economy principles while also being adaptable to changing requirements. This flexible concept was to be implemented within an extremely short timeframe, using circular products wherever possible.

Vitra was selected as the furniture supplier for its unique ability to provide such a wide range of refurbished pieces at short notice. The modular, adaptable offices, meeting areas, workshop spaces and lounge zones feature Vitra products such as ID Mesh, HAL Studio, Soft Work, Joyn Meet, Comma, Tyde, Allstar, Eames Plastic Chairs and Hack, supporting different ways of working and contributing to a cohesive overall environment. The project was developed and implemented within one month, resulting in a fit-out that is approximately 95% circular.
