This winter we invite you into four homes. After visiting the restored townhouse of actress Liane Forestieri, we are guests in the eclectic apartment of art collector Emmanuel de Bayser. We then find enchantment in the verdant greenery of Deborah Choi‘s flat in a historic residential building and make our final stop at the modern loft of artist Karin Sander.

Each of these homes has a personal ambience. Yet they all reflect the same intention: combining form and function, beauty and purpose, with carefully selected pieces.

Home Stories

In these authentic home stories, our hosts testify to the pleasure of living with Vitra products. They share their personal experiences as well as their furniture choices, guided by the search for natural and long-lasting materials that will give the next generation the opportunity to inherit these objects.

75th anniversary editions

In 1945 Charles and Ray Eames invented an apparatus – lovingly dubbed the ‘Kazam! Machine’ – for the purpose of experimenting with moulded plywood. With it they created children’s furniture, sculptures, toys and the iconic Plywood Chairs. The Eames Elephant, a cheerful and complex plywood creation that never went into production at the time, will also be honoured with a special edition: this collector’s item is made of ash wood with a grey-stained finish, heightening the resemblance with its natural counterpart.

10 year manufacturer’s warranty for selected products

An original will always retain its worth. An imitation will never be anything but a copy, a stolen idea. The difference lies in the details – not just the quality and more obvious variances but also the sensory and emotional appeal of the authentic product. An original is a lifelong companion and may well outlive you to be gratefully received by the next generation.
