Your apprenticeship at Vitra.

At Vitra, there are many different apprenticeships in the commercial, technical and industrial sectors. Thanks to the dual education system, you can combine practical experience with theoretical knowledge. You will have numerous opportunities to further develop your talents throughout the course of your apprenticeship.

At Vitra, a variety of interesting projects and events awaits you in addition to the regular apprenticeship programme, such as the Apprentice and Student Garden, the biannual get-together and much more.

How did you get your apprenticeship?
'As Vitra is an internationally recognised company, I've always been interested in working there. When I saw the opportunity, I jumped at it.'

'I first came into contact with Vitra at school. When we talked about some Vitra design classics in class, my interest was piqued. When I found out that I could do an apprenticeship at Vitra in the profession I was most interested in, I knew I had to apply. The more I got to know about Vitra, the stronger my decision became.'

What did you expect from your apprenticeship and have your expectations been met?
'My expectations from the apprenticeship were to gain valuable experience in the working environment and to get a first insight into the world of work. It was also important for me to find out which activities I particularly like and enjoy, as I do a variety of tasks in different departments. Over the past two years I have learnt a lot and found out which areas and activities I enjoy the most.'

'I really enjoyed the dialogue with colleagues and the variety of tasks. I find the new challenges and the responsibility I am given particularly exciting.'

How are you treated as an apprentice?
'I have been treated well since I started my apprenticeship. My trainer and colleagues have always treated me as an equal and made me feel welcome in our team from the start. If I had any questions or problems, everyone was always willing to listen and support me.'

'I have been treated very well during my apprenticeship. The team is always open to questions and offers me a lot of support. Occasionally I have been taken along to meetings or events, which has helped me to gain an even better insight into the company's processes. Communication is open and I've always been able to get involved.'

What tips do you have for anyone interested in an apprenticeship here?
'My tip for anyone doing an apprenticeship at Vitra: Have the courage to look at all departments with an open mind and gain new experiences! Be curious and don't be afraid to ask questions or take on responsibility. Vitra offers you the opportunity to learn a lot and develop your skills in different areas.'
