Wire Chair DKR
Charles & Ray Eames, 1951
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, the seat shell of the Wire Chair echoes the form of the Eames Plastic Side Chair. Mounted on the legendary 'Eiffel Tower' base, the DKR combines transparency and functionality. The version with a powder-coated finish is also suited for use in the garden or on the terrace. The DKR chair is optionally available with a seat cushion or with a two-piece seat and back cushion covered in fabric or leather.

Wire Chair

Designed by Charles and Ray Eames out of welded steel wire, the Wire Chair is a variation on the theme of the organically shaped one-piece seat shell, combining transparent lightness with technical sophistication. The seat shell can be joined with a variety of different bases and optionally fitted with a seat cushion or a two-piece seat and back pad. The latter is also known as the 'Bikini' pad due to its shape – it comes in a fabric or leather version with a wide choice of colours and is permanently attached to the chair. It is additionally available as the removable 'Bikini Outdoor' model made of weather-resistant fabric for use in exterior settings. The Wire Chairs have a powder-coated finish; some models are also available in a chrome-plated version. All models with a powder-coated finish – except the DKW with wooden legs – may also be used outdoors.
