Notice of California and Texas right to opt out of certain disclosures of personal information
If you reside in California or Texas, you have the right to opt out of “sales” of your personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) and certain “sharing” of your personal information under the CCPA and processing of your personal information for “targeted advertising” purposes, as such terms are defined under the CCPA and TDPSA, respectively. To exercise this right, follow both of these steps:
• Write to us at [email protected] with your request. You only need to write to us once to make the request, but you should respond to any follow-up questions we may have.
• If you want your request to apply to such disclosures that take place when certain third parties use cookies and similar technology on our site, then click the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of the Site and turn off all categories of cookies that can be turned off. (When the toggle is in the “off” position, it is gray and displays an “x”.) Then click “Save Settings”. You must complete this cookie opt-out on each browser you use to access the Site. If you replace, change, or upgrade your browser, or delete your cookies, or use a browser that automatically clears cookies, you will need to repeat this process.
Many browsers also offer a way to activate the Global Privacy Control signal (“GPC”). Our Site treats qualifying browsers for which the user has activated the GPC signal as having opted out of what CCPA calls a “sale” or “sharing” of any California personal information that is collected on that site from that browser using cookies and similar technology. You can override that treatment for a GPC-enabled browser by using the cookie controls available from the website’s footer to opt into particular categories of cookies from that browser. In that case, “sales” and “sharing” via cookies and similar technology in those categories may resume on that browser.

For example, we need certain information to provide the Site to you, fulfill your requests, or comply with applicable law, and if you ask us to delete such information, we may deny your request. We may take steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include, depending on the sensitivity of the information involved and the type of request you are making, verifying your name and email address and details about a recent order, if applicable. If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to respond to your requests. As provided in applicable law, you have the right to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights regarding your personal information.
To exercise these rights, you may email us at [email protected]. Please specify the right you want to exercise and the information with respect to which you want to exercise this right. If specified by local law, you can designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. So that we can verify an authorized agent, the agent will need to provide us with proof of their authorization under the relevant state law. Qualified agents should be able to inform you of the specific requirements for your law, but this may range from a proper power of attorney to a signed, written permission to make such requests, depending on the law and nature of your request. We may follow up with you to verify your identity before responding to the authorized agent’s request, as permitted by applicable law.
If we deny the request of a resident of Texas, they may exercise their right under state law to appeal that decision by writing to us at the same email address and detailing the reason for the appeal. We will provide Texans with information about how to make an appeal in any response denying the request.
All individuals have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in their jurisdiction. However, we encourage you to contact us first with any concerns or complaints so we can do our best to resolve them.
6. Children's information
Vitra is neither intended for nor directed to children under 18. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have knowledge of a minor child that has submitted personal information without the applicable consent of the parent or guardian of such minor child.
7. Third party links
Our Site may contain links to other websites, content, or services that we do not own or control (collectively, “Third-Party Services”). For the avoidance of doubt, we are not responsible for the practices employed by any third parties or Third-Party Services, including the information or substance contained within them. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Site to a Third-Party Service (including, but not limited to, clicking on advertisements, special offers or other events or activities that are not owned or controlled by Vitra), this Privacy Policy does not apply to such Third-Party Services, which are subject to their own terms and policies. You should review such terms and policies before providing your information to a third party.
8. Notice to California Residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) requires us to provide you with some additional information about your personal information.
This Privacy Policy discusses in detail the categories of personal information we collect and how we use and disclose such information. We retain your personal information as set forth in the “Security and retention” section above. Additional detail about California personal information is available here.
Additional California privacy rights. California residents may make certain requests about their personal information under the CCPA as set forth in “Your rights and choices” section above. In addition:
• You can request that we inform you about the categories of personal information we collect or disclose about you; the categories of sources of such personal information; the business or commercial purpose for collecting such personal information; and the categories of third parties to which we disclose such personal information; and
• If we ever offer financial incentives in exchange for your personal information, we will provide you with appropriate notice of such incentives.
We do not process sensitive personal information as defined in the CCPA (e.g., log-in information) for any purpose for which the CCPA would grant you a special opt-out right due to the sensitive nature of the personal information. We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of people under 16 years of age.
Do Not Track. Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a signal that you can set on certain browsers. Because there currently isn’t an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
9. Privacy Policy changes
Vitra may, in its sole discretion, change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes to our Privacy Policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date above. We may also provide you with additional forms of notice, depending on the update and on whether we have your email address. By using the Site after an update, you agree that we will handle your information in accordance with the updated Privacy Policy. We therefore encourage you to frequently check this page for changes to our Privacy Policy.
