Product recall: Ampi “basic dark” charging stations (serial numbers DE202400001–505)

Quality and product safety are top priorities for Vitra. Our products are continuously inspected and tested to ensure they comply with applicable safety requirements.
During these checks, it was found that certain Ampi “basic dark” charging stations manufactured by Longtech Plastic and Metal Works may overheat and present a risk of burns.
As a precautionary measure, Vitra Factory GmbH is therefore recalling certain Ampi charging stations. Only devices of the following type with serial numbers DE202400001 to DE202400505 are affected:

“Ampi, basic dark” charging stations with a serial number other than those listed above are not affected by the recall.
Customers who own an affected Ampi charging station must stop using this product immediately and should contact an authorised Vitra dealer or Vitra directly to receive a full refund. The product can be returned even without presenting a proof of purchase.
Vitra asks customers to forward this recall information to other people if the affected product has been passed on, lent, sold or given away.
To receive a refund directly from Vitra, affected customers should send an email to [email protected] including their name and address, together with a photograph of the underside of the device showing the serial number. Vitra will then provide the relevant return instructions and cover the return shipping costs.
