Munich Airport, Terminal 2 Satellite
Munich, Germany
Munich Airport opened its new Terminal 2 satellite facility in the spring of 2016. With 52 new gates, the building can handle an additional 11 million passengers a year. During the planning phase, considerable focus was placed on minimising walking distances for passengers and creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout the spacious building.
Based on positive experiences in the past, the client once again chose Vitra products to outfit the waiting areas and lounges. The waiting area system Meda Gate, conceived by the Italian engineer and designer Alberto Meda, offers comfortable seating with integrated power and USB outlets. Both the materials and construction of the system are exceptionally strong and robust to meet the rigorous demands associated with public spaces.
