Cherry Blossom Season on the Vitra Campus
Saturday and Sunday, 30 and 31 March 2019, 12 am – 6 pm
Cherry blossom season on the Vitra Campus is always a special experience, and this year the cherry trees scattered all over the northern part of the campus are already starting to bloom. The place is transformed as spring arrives on the Vitra site in Weil am Rhein.
We would like to celebrate this spectacular sight with you on Saturday and Sunday, 30 and 31 March 2019. The meadow between the Vitra Design Museum and Tadao Ando’s Conference Pavilion will be furnished with tables and chairs for a picnic under the cherry trees. A range of savoury afternoon snacks and sweet delicacies will be available for purchase.
We will also be offering free guided tours through and around the Conference Pavilion designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. These will be held every half hour from noon to 6 pm, starting at a gathering point in the meadow. Please register upon arrival for one of the guided tours. A ‘drop-in workshop’ under the cherry trees will provide extra entertainment and get visitors in the mood for spring.
