Statement on Accessibility

Vitra International AG (“Vitra”) endeavours to make its website www.vitra.com accessible in accordance with the legal provisions on accessibility, in particular European Directive 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services and the national implementing legislation.

This statement on accessibility applies to www.vitra.com (the "Website").

General Description of Services

The online shop on the Website offers high-quality furniture, lamps, accessories and related services. It enables you to search for, compare and purchase furnishings and related services such as delivery, installation or repair.

If you are interested in a product, you can add it to your shopping cart or add it to your wish list for later purchase. Before you can order a product, you have to register or log in. The products in your shopping cart can be checked during the ordering process before you place your order. Select a payment method and a delivery address before submitting your order.

Applicable Requirements

Parts of the Website constitute " e-commerce services" within the meaning of the accessibility legislations and are subject to the relevant requirements. The specific technical measures required are largely based on the EN 301 549 standard and are guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2. The WCAG provide guidelines on how websites can be designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for persons with disabilities. There are three levels of compliance, with Vitra implementing levels A and AA in accordance with European requirements.

Status of Compliance with Accessibility Legislation

Accessibility on the Website is implemented in accordance with the standards listed above. To ensure that our products and services can also be used by persons with physical, sensory or cognitive impairments, we have in particular implemented the following measures:

  • Ensuring keyboard accessibility
  • Semantic enrichment with ARIA markup
  • Adjustable font sizes (up to 200%)

The following content is currently not yet or only partially accessible within the meaning of the above requirements:

  • Colour contrast (text and image) in teasers not continuously sufficient
  • Zoom function not seamlessly usable
  • Assistive programmes (screen readers) not fully compatible with Website
  • Size of clickable elements sometimes insufficient

For the best possible user experience in terms of accessibility, we recommend using the Chrome or Safari browsers. Accessibility features are being continuously developed.
