Eames Elephant (Plywood) / イームズ エレファント プライウッド
Charles & Ray Eames, 1945
チャールズ＆レイ・イームズは、1945年にプライウッドを成形する技術を用いた象の形をしたおもちゃをデザインしました。しかし、当時はまだ技術的に難しく、製品化にはいたりませんでした。その時の試作品のひとつは1946年にMuseum of Modern Artでの展覧会に展示され、今日もイームズファミリーのアーカイヴに残っています。2007年の限定生産を経て、ついに「イームズ エレファント プライウッド」の量産がスタートしました。このシリーズは、プラスチック製の「イームズ エレファント」と、小ぶりな「イームズ エレファント スモール」の3種類です。
